There are numerous rental options in the Bath, Brunswick and Georgetown area - we reccomend booking early!
Brunswick
Brunswick is the town just south of Bath (10-15 minute drive) and, as the home of Bowdoin College, offers nearby and convenient arrangements.
Portland
The Portland area offers numerous housing arrangements and is about 45 minutes south of the wedding and the reception.
Here are some of Julia and Nick's favorite food recommendations for the Bath area!
Food
Our favorite lobster rolls are at Gurnet Trading Co. at 602 Gurnet Rd, Brunswick
For lobsters with a view, check out Five Islands Lobster Co in Georgetown - and join the groom's party there for lunch on Saturday!
Another great lobster spot is Morse's Cribstone Grill in Bailey Island. If Morse's is too full, try Cook's Lobster & Ale House which is just around the corner.
For dinner in Bath, we recommend Salt Pine Social - but if you're going to go on Friday, be sure to get a reservation and plan on sitting around 7 pm at the latest! Salt Pine has a great local oyster selection.
For a fancier meal (requires reservations), try Tao Yung in Brunswick - asian fusion eats from a James Beard semi-finalist chef.
More breweries are listed in the activies section below!
Dessert
Really the best dessert in town is over at Witch Spring Hill Ice Cream over on 60 State Rd, West Bath - try the dips!
Portland
In Portland, we recommend the following eats:
Otto Pizza - various locations. Solid 'za.
Bao Bao Dumpling House
Drifters Wife
The Maine Maritime Museum runs several different types of cruises on the Kennebec River to the ocean to visit lighthouses. Book in advance. They run cruises lasting from 1 – 4 hours seven days a week. Please check their web site for times, cost and reservations.
Maine has only two sandy beaches – and both of them are within a 20 minute drive of Bath!
Reid State Park: 375 Sequinland Rd, Georgetown, ME 04548 is a 770 acre park with hiking trails and a large sandy beach on the Atlantic. Best to get there early on week-ends for parking.
Popham Beach: 10 Perkins Farm Lane, Phippsburg, ME 04562 is a 605 acre sandy beach on the Atlantic and is the state’s busiest state beach. Best to get there early for parking on week-ends.
Maine has nearly 100 independent breweries, scattered throughout the state. Beer aficiandos should check out https://mainebrewguide.com for a list of breweries, tours, etc. Breweries near Bath include:
